With no shortage of carbon bike road rims in the market, ProX has launched unique Undulating Road Disc series rims. As the name suggests, such carbon road rims are with varying depth. For example, measured from spoke hole area, the URD28-450 rim is with 50mm depth and in between it drops to 45mm. This mid-depth profiles wave up and down 5mm for better aero performance and crosswind stability. It allow the riders to handle the bike better especially in the wind.
ProX undulating disc brake rims are both available in conventional 24 spoke holes and 21 spoke hole(usually for 2:1 hubs), designed for road riding use. The rim is specific reinforced to each spoke hole drilling in the deeper area to increase rim strength and stiffness as well.
The rim has a hook bead design and is tubeless compatible. Tubeless tires can make a good performance at lower tire pressure for reduced rolling resistance and contribute to all out speed.
ProX decal/logo is offered for free as showed in ProX decal page. The decal will be applied on the rim and do the matte or glossy finish according to customers’ preference. You can choose either with such gold ProX decal or simply without decal (UD black matte or UD black glossy finish).
Standard weight version (without “SL” on the rim model name, such as URD28-305) carbon rim is made from Toray T700 carbon fiber which is the basis to make high strength bike carbon rims. The max rider weight limit is 120kg/265lb.
Super light weight version (with “SL” on the rim model name, such as URD28-305-SL) carbon rim is made from premium Toray T800 carbon fiber to achieve super light weight, which is more suitable for lighter weight riders (max weight limit 100kg/220lb).
Both standard weight version and super light weight versions are optional for undulating rims.
Such new aerodynamic design road disc carbon rims help to minimize wind drag and improve stability in crosswinds obviously. It will bring you a faster and more confident riding experience.

ERD* Effective Rim Diameter (ERD) is the maximum distance that spokes need to bridge going from one end of the rim to another. How do we calculate the ERD of our rims? The corresponding equation and a drawing is as shown: ERD=OD-(rim depth)*2+(rim thickness)*2 For example： ERD of URD28-305 rim=633mm-35mm*2+3.5mm*2=570mm Most people prefer ERD including the length of the nipple cap. However, customers may use different nipples and components for building. Please add the height of the nipple cap(2.5mm~3mm generally) for your spoke calculation. If the height of the nipple cap is 3mm, then ERD of your URD28-305 rim is 570mm+3mm*2=576mm A: Rim nipple bed thickness (=3.5mm) B: Length of nipple cap (2.5mm~3mm generally)
